Discover the captivating story of the kimono, exploring its origins and historical evolution, cultural significance, and lasting impact on contemporary fashion and design. Join us for a free online talk to uncover how this iconic garment continues to inspire our world today. 

The lecture will be given by David Wertheim, a renowned expert of Japanese arts and culture, and the Founder of Ezen Foundation. The Foundation’s mission is to share the knowledge and enjoyment of culture and history of Japan through learning and inspiration. It has collaborated with the Museum on our current exhibition Kimono: The Making of the Cultural Icon.  During the talk, David will discuss several exhibited prints, on loan from Ezen Foundation, and beyond, as he explores the vibrant history of the kimono.
